An Afghan Education to Premiere at Athens International Film and Video Festival

‘An Afghan Education’ – a documentary I shot on female education in Afghanistan will have it’s world premiere at the 47th Athens International Film and Video Festival.

In a country where 85% of girls are still out of school, the film follows two girls whose determination to receive an education led them from remote villages in central Afghanistan to study at University in Kabul. It’s also the story of the teachers, families and organisations that supported them in realising their dreams.

It’s a very personal documentary, as it mainly traces the work of Arghosha Faraway Schools, a charity my parents co-founded, which builds schools in Afghanistan (13 so far) with the help of some extraordinary people, both in Afghanistan and in the rest of the world.
You can find out more about the organisation and their incredible work here – https://www.arghosha.org/
